As the name implies, our club is comprised of Amateur Radio operators from the area around the town of South Lyon in Southeastern Michigan. The South Lyon Area Amateur Radio Club, or SLAARC for short, is an ARRL affiliated organization. Our club callsign in N8SL. Our club is comprised of a group of individuals who enjoy sharing their knowledge of ham radio. We are a diverse group - each bringing something unique and enriching to our club and to amateur radio. The K8VJ repeater located in South Lyon is the on-the-air gathering spot for our club members. We also conduct a weekly net on the repeater each Sunday evening at 8:00 PM except for the 2nd Sunday of the month when our regular club meeting is held Our big event each year is the annual ARRL field day. We also participate as a club in the annual Michigan QSO party. Please check out the pictures on our club website to see more about our various activities. Our club meets at 6:30 PM on the second Sunday of the month at the Witches Hat Depot in South Lyon, MI. The Witches Hat Depot is located on Dorothy Street west of Pontiac Trail (between 9 and 10 mile road). Please check our website for any last minute changes to the meeting time or location. Our door is always open for new members, or if you just want to visit. Please join us at our regular monthly meetings. We generally have a short program at the end of each meeting. We like to “Show and Tell” the projects we are working on, so come see what we are doing or bring in your interesting project to one of our meetings. We look forward to seeing you.
