Who We Are
Most Vegas repeaters are silent. The Sin City Repeater Group, Inc. is where Las Vegas actually talks.
Sin City Repeater Group, Inc. (SCRG) is a Nevada Chapter 82 nonprofit educational corporation and an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization focused on building, operating, and sustaining high-performance amateur radio repeater infrastructure.
Our systems are active—consistently, predictably, and often nonstop.
If you key up on an SCRG repeater, you’re not calling into the void. You’re stepping into an ongoing conversation with operators across the Las Vegas valley and beyond.
SCRG exists for operators who want more than occasional nets or passive participation.
We are built around infrastructure, standards, and real operating.
- Part network.
- Part training ground.
- Part fraternity of serious amateur radio operators.
We actively develop the next generation of repeater builders, system operators, and RF infrastructure technicians through hands-on experience, mentoring, and real-world system involvement.
At the same time, SCRG is a tight-knit and highly social community.
There is always someone on the air.
There is always a conversation happening.
And over time, those conversations turn into something more:Relationships. Trust. Brotherhood.
While our systems are held to a high standard, membership is open to anyone with an interest in amateur radio who wants to be part of an active, engaged, and growing environment.
Whether you are newly licensed or highly experienced, you are welcome here.
The easiest way to understand SCRG is simple: Key up. Say hello.
Membership & Costs
SCRG is designed to be accessible to anyone (18 years of age +) who wants to get on the air and be part of an active system—while also recognizing those who invest more deeply in the network.

A Note on How SCRG Works
SCRG is built differently.

Leadership and governance within SCRG are earned through:
- Technical contribution
- Operational involvement
- Or direct investment in repeater infrastructure
In other words: The more you put into the system, the more you can shape it.

Spend time on the system.
Be part of the conversation. When you’re ready, membership is there.
History of the Sin City Repeater Group
The Sin City Repeater Group (SCRG) is a Las Vegas amateur radio network with deep roots in Buffalo, New York. What began in 2014 as a single Henderson repeater on 446.825 MHz has grown into one of the most active linked repeater systems in the Southwest, spanning 2m, 440, and 900 MHz, and frequently tied to Buffalo through AllStar Link.
But Sin City isn’t just about machines — it’s about people. Weekly tavern meetups, off-roading trips, BBQs, and family outings have made the Group more like a family than a club. With one of the highest concentrations of younger hams in Nevada, conversations on our repeaters are wide-open and real: music, politics, religion, cars, firearms, food — nothing off limits.
We’ll admit it: SCRG isn’t for everyone. If you want a quiet, sterile, radio-check-only repeater, there are plenty of those across the valley. This just isn’t one of them. We like to say: if you want silence, spin the dial; if you want conversation, welcome home.
