Emergency Management Assistant

Summary:

Assist in the development and implementation of the ARRL's emergency communications and emergency response functions, both internally and externally, and delivery of ARRL public service communications training programs. Assist in providing educational materials and working with subject matter experts to deliver quality training content for the amateur radio community.

Archivist

Contract 1099 position

Term length: 6 – 12 months, 20 – 40 hours per week

 

Summary

The American Radio Relay League seeks an experienced Archivist on an Independent Contractor basis to complete a variety of Archival projects.  The Archivist will be responsible for the organization, preservation, and accessibility of historical documents and records. This role is crucial in ensuring that valuable information is properly cataloged and maintained for future reference. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information management and a passion for preserving history.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage collections by assessing, cataloging, and maintaining records in accordance with best  practices.
  • Create and maintain metadata to enhance the discoverability of archival resources.
  • Ensure compliance with intellectual property law regarding the use and reproduction of archival materials.
  • Manage the process of ingesting and cataloging assorted documents and media assets into a modern database.
  • Utilize Resource Description Access (RDA) standards in cataloging archival materials.
  • Other duties may be requested or assigned.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of information management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in metadata creation and management techniques.
  • Understanding of intellectual property law as it pertains to archival materials.
  • Experience in collection management practices within an archival context.
  • Familiarity with Resource Description Access (RDA) standards for cataloging.
  • Project management skills.
  • Competence in cataloging techniques specific to archival collections.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of archival experience preferred.
