Description:

SEMARC is a general interest amateur radio club devoted to serving its members and the amateur radio community in general.  It is affiliated with ARRL and supports the programs of that association.

In 2023 the Club relocated to the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, MN  moving from Fire Station Two  We continue to work with and support the City of Cottage Grove in their emergency preparedness efforts.

The club has programs that support the community as with our youth education and student scholarship program, public service and emergency communications, participating with the Washington County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) organization as a partner with the Stillwater Amateur Radio Association (SARA) and providing testing opportunities to get your amateur radio license with our volunteer examiner teams.

Our public service participation includes Special events for the City of Cottage Grove.  In the past our members have participated in "Darien's Dash", "The Woodbury Country Mile", "Strawberry Fest", National Nigh Out and other charitable events requiring radio communications.

As SEMARC meetings are in Cottage Grove, Minnesota the club draws members primarily from South Washington and Dakota Counties but everyone is welcome.

The club's 2 meter repeaters operate on 146.985 MHz with a minus off-set and no tone is required.  This repeater provides excellent coverage with the receiver located in Cottage Grove and its transmitter and receiver sites are located in Cottage Grove, MN.  Our second repeater is 147.18 with a plus offset and tone of 74.4 being use for our ARES operations and is also located in Cottage Grove.  Our third repeater located in Forest Lake, MN is also on 147.18 but with a tone of 100 helping provide coverage throughout Washington County.

For fun, we have events like Fox Hunts, special events like "USS Ward" , U.S. Postal Air Route System" and others.  We operate during the annual amateur radio "Field Day" in June and "Winter Field Day" in January.  Our meetings include a short "business" meeting and have programs that are either educational or entertaining.
