The Southern Counties Amateur Radio Club is a forward looking club that caters to new hams and ideas.  We have regular "field day" type outings at a local State Park twice a year where communications are established in an overnight stay situation.  We explore alternative field expedient setups where getting on the air quickly is of the essence for emergency communications. 

We own and operate 2 vhf repeaters, 146.880, and the 145.370, the 145.370 is a digital, and analog repeater.  The 146.880 is analog only and linked to the 147.090 repeater in Ava, Il.

We tour the National Weather Service usually once per 2 year cycle. 

We "break bread" together at a local restaurant usually in the early spring. 

Innovative antenna designs, digital interface, grid down situations, alternate forms of communication, and a sense of Ham Radio fellowship are just a few of the many things our club offers.

License test sessions:  You MUST contact w9ry@w9ry.com to arrange testing.  Testing is done at the club meetings.  Please get your FRN number before testing....it is a "must" per FCC rules.
