Upcoming Contests - Things to Do YOTA Contest, Round 2, is This Weekend The Youngsters On The Air (YOTA) Contest, round 2, will be held Saturday, July 23, starting at 1000 UTC. The objective of the event is to increase the activities of youth in amateur radio. The contest is organized by IARU Region 1 Youth Working Group, in cooperation with the Hungarian Amateur Radio Society. For more information, visit their website at www.ham-yota.com/contest/. Lunar Landing EME SSTV Party July 21 marks 53 years since Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. To celebrate this historic event the C.A. Muller Radio Astronomy Station in the Netherlands will activate PI9CAM on 1296.110 MHz using SSTV mode Martin-2. The station will transmit several lunar landing and space related images starting about 0730 UTC on July 21 and will continue operation until their moonset.
