Can I work wires-x with an analog vx-6r HT?

The club lent me a Yaesu FT1D fusion HT to check out for giggles. Since my VX-6R HT has that wires button, can I work a wires-x "room" with my VX-6R in case I find that I want to do? $400 for a fusion HT is a bit steep if I can make do with my vx-6r. |

Wires X is a Fusion digital connection to the internet. Wires is an analog connection to the internet. They are not compatible with each other. Do you have a Wires connected (analog) repeater in your area? Bill |
