I have an ARRL Triple Play Award. This award signifies that I have achieved WAS in CW, SSB and Digital. I recently comfirmed WAS in LoTW using the FT8 mode. An FT8 endorsement costs $2.00. However, the ARRL says that I must also apply for a WAS digital certificate ($17.00) before I can have the FT8 endorsement. The ARRL does not consider the digital WAS achieved in the Triple Play Award to be legitimate for obtaining separate digital endorsements. I spoke with the ARRL to confirm this. Will someone please explain to me the logic behind this position other than collecting additional money. Thank you. Carl KJ4WD
