This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by
Tedd, KB8NW, the OPDX Bulletin and Contest Corral from QST.  Thanks
to all.
 
COCOS ISLAND, TI9.  Jose, TI9JJP, should be active until August 15.
Try 7050 kHz between 0200 and 0530z.  Also check 14195 kHz
throughout the day.  He also works 24940 kHz around 2330z.  He will
return to the island for an October 4 to 20 stay.  QSL to Jose
Pastora, PO Box 330, 1000 San Jose, Costa Rica.
 
COCOS KEELING ISLAND, VK9C.  Uwe, DJ9HX, will be active as VK9CJ
until August 16.
 
REVILLA GIGEDO ISLANDS, XF4.  Another DXpedition slated for
September is being planned by Nellie, XE1CI.
 
CAMBODIA, XU.  PA3BTQ should be active as XU6TQ for two weeks in
September.  After that it is on to YA-land where he will attempt to
obtain permission to operate, though chances are ''slim.''
 
MYANMAR, XY.  It has been reported that Ray, HS0/G0N0M and a group
of Japanese operators were on as XY1HT for a few days to demonstrate
SSTV and RTTY to government officials.  154 QSOs were made.
 
VIETNAM, 3W.  Nickolay, 3W5FM, has been active on CW, SSB and RTTY,
mainly on 20 meters from 1000 to 1400z.  JA operators report RTTY
also on 24923 kHz at 1044z and 18103 kHz at 1050z.  Nickolay should
remain in Vietnam until September or possibly October.  QSL 3W5FM
and UA0FM/3W via PO Box 66, Vladimir 600011, Russia.
 
WESTERN MALAYSIA, 9M2.  Neville, G3NUG, plans to be active from
AS-046 August 11 to 14 and from AS-073 August 17 to 21.  He will
operate SSB only.  Check 14260, 18128, and 7055 kHz, split 5/10 up.
QSL via G3NUG or via bureau.
 
BAHAMAS, C6A.  Chuck, KG9N, will be sign KG9N/C6A from Abaco Island
August 11 to 18.  Some RS-12 action is planned as well as
participation in the WAE CW Contest.
 
KERGUELEN ISLAND, FT8X.  Jean Jacques, FB1LYF, ex J28CW, will be on
this island for a year starting sometime in November.
 
JORDAN, JY.  Admir, 4X6TT, will be traveling to Amman, primarily to
help do the work on JY74 cards, though he will be active as JY8TT.
 
EL SALVADOR, YS.  Kent, N2MIP, will be on the air as YS1ZKR November
5 to 11 with what may be the first ever satellite opportunity for
those needing El Salvador.  He will operate HF during times that
there are no windows to the birds.  Satellite operation will be
primarily on Oscar 13, with Oscar 10 as backup.
 
UK SOVEREIGN BASE AREAS ON CYPRUS, ZC4.  OK1RF and OK1RI plan to be
on the air as ZC4C August 6 to 18 with 160 to 10 meter CW and SSB.
They will also be in the WAE CW Contest.  QSL via OK1RI.
 
SILENT KEY.  It is with deep sadness that we report the death of
Miriam West Smith, KB4C, head of Production and Circulation and the
wife of Editor Carl Smith, N4AA, of the QRZ DX Bulletin.
 
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The Great New Mexico Chili Chase is from
1800z August 12 until 1800z August 13 on phone and CW.  Exchange
signal report and state/province/DXCC country.  New Mexico stations
will exchange signal report and county.
 
The Maryland-DC QSO Party is from 1600z August 12 to 0300z August
13, and 1600 to 2400z August 13.  Operate phone, CW or both.
Exchange signal report, state/province/DXCC country for QTH and
entry category, either Club, QRP, Mobile, Novice/Technician or
Standard.  MDC stations will exchange county for their QTH.
