FCC CORES Registration Instructions

NEW USERS

Create an FCC CORES (COmission REgistration System) Username account at FCC CORES Registration with a unique username (a valid email address) and password.  After creating the account, when logged in, register for, and receive a unique FRN (FCC Registration Number).

View the instructions on the FCC Registration Help page, the New Users guide to ULS for step by step instructions on the registration process or the Commission Registration System Video Tutorials page for videos that help guide CORES users through a variety of situations.

For assistance, call the FCC Licensing Support Center at 877-480-3201 (Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET), or submit a help request on the FCC’s Wireless Licensing Help Center website.

LEGACY CORES USERS MUST REGISTER IN THE NEW CORES SYSTEM
Legacy CORES (COmission REgistration System) users must register in the new CORES System.  The FCC retired the legacy version of CORES on July 15, 2022.  The updated version of CORES Registration has been available since 2016, but most amateurs do not know it is available.

The FCC is advising all users to transition to the
updated CORES system as soon as possible to take advantage of the new features and security enhancements.  Additionally, licensees must be registered in the new system to be able to pay the $35 FCC application fee required for license renewals, vanity call sign requests, and new licenses.

Licensees who do not have an FCC Username account must set one up at
FCC CORES Registration with a unique username (a valid email address) and password.  After creating the account, when logged in, associate your existing FRN with your username.  You can view these instructions on the FCC Registration Help page.  Find your FRN in the system by using the FCC’s License Search page.

The FCC also offers CORES Tutorial Videos. Specifically, view the videos “Getting Started With the New CORES” which explains how to register for a CORES Username account and “Associating an FRN to a Username” which instructs legacy CORES users on how to link an existing FRN to a username.  The FCC also has a license renewal instructions page.  Visit the ARRL website for further information about the FCC application fee.

For assistance, call the FCC Licensing Support Center at 877-480-3201 (Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ET), or submit a help request on the FCC’s Wireless Licensing Help Center website.
