Description:

To Member, clubs and friends in the San Joaquin Valley Section.

Please welcome our new Section Manager, Steve KK6JTB.  I have been asked to serve as the Vice-Director for the Pacific Division. I have accepted that role and was actually a bit stunned at how fast the transition has occured.  Most of my San Joaquin Valley Leadership Team  heard the news before I had the opportunity to speak with you and I humbly apologize for that.  I appreciate each of you and I hope you'll support Steve as your Section Manager going forward.  I will continue to support all of you along with the Pacific Division.

Field Day is just around the corner. Many of our clubs are in the “launch mode” of Field Day 2024.  Field Day swag is available at www.arrl.org and I encourage you to order your supplies, shirts and wicked cool hats right away.  Please let your section managers know where you'll be located this year so they can meet you in the field.

Field Day isn’t just an exercise in emergency preparedness, it’s also an opportunity to put our face “out there” in our communities.  It’s an opportunity impress and recruit new members. Be Radio Active means to be out there on the air and tuning our friends and neighbors in and sharing the greatest hobby in the world!

Join us on Facebook. The San Joaquin Valley Section has a facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/sjv.arrl be sure and share your club events and pictures for the rest of the section to see!  Invite your club members and ham friends, or potential new ham friends to connect with us on social media. Post your local media hits on your club and get your monthly meetings scheduled as events!

You should also send your newsletter to the Section Manager, kk6jtb@arrl.net ,  Affiliated Club Coordinator (w6dpd@arrl.org) and the Pacific Division Leaders (w7xm@arrl.org , nz6q@arrl.org)  and to ARRL HQ (clubs@arrl.org). Thanks to all the clubs who are doing this each month.

Need to take an Amateur exam? Are you having an exam? Check the ARRL web page, www.arrl.org/arrlvec/examsearch.phtml for exam information. You can also search for Amateur Radio Classes in your area and register your exam. Instructors can also register classes there.

The K6RAU (our Traffic Manager) Morse Code Instruction Course is available at https://k6rau.podomatic.com  No need to know a "dit" from a "dah", simply with paper and pencil, and following the instructions.
